P. I. K. A. majors expressed their support and cooperation in the establishment of the Medicine study programme at UP

In May, UP signed a Letter of Intent with the Prime Minister of the Republic of Slovenia on the establishment of a Medicine study programme at UP, and on Monday 1 July, health institutions expressed their support.

UP has taken the courageous path of foundation also because of the strong support of the community in which it operates. We were delighted to receive a letter of support from the mayors of the P.I.K.A. Coalition on Friday, July 5 - a joint commitment and offer to support the establishment of a Medicine degree programme at UP.

The Rector of UP, Prof. Dr. Klavdija Kutnar, emphasized in her letter of thanks: "Without your firm and unwavering support, every step in this direction would be more difficult and our strength to realize this project would be even stronger. I am glad that the UP works in such an environment where the values of health, love for others and social sense are at the top."

UP would like to thank all the mayors - Andrej Korenika (Municipality of Piran), Milan Bogatič (Municipality of Izola), Aleš Bržan (Municipality of Koper) and Gregor Strmčnik (Municipality of Ankaran) - for their support for this project, which also contributes to the improvement of healthcare in our region. We are confident that together we will be successful.
