Letter of Intent signed with health care institutions to support and cooperate the Medicine programme at UP
On Monday, 1 July 2024, the next step in the establishment of a unified Master's degree programme in Medicine took place at UP, following the signing of a Letter of Intent by the Prime Minister and the Rector of UP in May.
The UP management invited public and private health institutions in the promorsko-notranjska region and beyond to a strategic meeting. At the meeting, the invited participants were informed about the steps necessary for the establishment and implementation of the Medicine study programme and presented their own possibilities and capacities to participate in the development and implementation of the programme.
After the meeting, those present also signed a Letter of Intent to support and cooperate in the development and implementation of the Unified Master's Degree Programme in Medicine at UP and supported both the need and the implementation of the establishment of the programme.
The letter was signed on 1 July 2024 with the University of Primorska by the following institutions: Izola General Hospital, Valdoltra Orthopaedic Hospital, General Hospital dr. Franc Derganc Nova Gorica, Hospital for Treatment and Rehabilitation of Chronic Pulmonary Patients and Extended Hospital Treatment Se啪ana, Ilirska Bistrica Health Centre, Izola Health Centre, Koper Health Centre, Nova Gorica Primary Care Health Centre, Piran Health Centre, National Institute of Public Health, OE Koper, MC Medicor Slovenija, Furlan Healthcare Institution, GAIA MED d. o. o., Healthcare Institution Zdravljenje, and Healthcare Institution Celjenje Koper.
While several other institutions responded to the invitation with support, separate discussions and additional signatures will take place in the coming months with those that were unable to attend in person.
