Letters of Intent for the Medicine study programme also signed in Tolmin and Kobarid 

On Monday, 19 August 2024, the UP management also visited two health care institutions operating in the area of the northern Primorska region and agreed with the management of both institutions on possible cooperation in the establishment and implementation of the UP Medicine study programme. The agreements were confirmed by signing a Letter of Intent. The Rector of UP, Prof. Dr. Klavdija Kutnar, signed a letter of intent with the Director of the Tolmin Health Centre, Primož Uršič, and the Director of the Apolon Health Centre in Kobarid, Božidar Kanalec. Thus, the efforts to establish the programme and the identified needs are confirmed in the northern area of the Primorska region.   

The UP management concluded its visit to the region with a longer visit to the General Hospital Dr. Franc Dergane Nova Gorica, which had already signed the Letter of Intent on 1 July. During the visit, the UP representatives met with a number of the hospital's staff, touched upon the research and development plans of both institutions and agreed on deeper cooperation in the preparation of the curriculum as well as other projects.

The UP management invited all health care institutions in the region to the strategy meeting, while those who did not manage to respond to the invitation on 1 July but wished to further express their support were invited to individual meetings to be held.
