Integrity and Ethics at the UP 

By respecting the principles of the Code of Ethics and the implementation of the Integrity Plan, the ��ɫ����Ƶ and students of the UP achieve the set goals, maintain the reputation of the UP and contribute to the development of the wider environment of the UP. Cooperation between ��ɫ����Ƶ bases on mutual respect and consideration of different opinions. The UP leadership serves as a role model for all ��ɫ����Ƶ and students to act in accordance with regulations and ethical norms. 

INTEGRITY

 The Integrity Plan is a tool for managing risk of corruption and integrity risks and contains measures to prevent risk from occurring. It has been prepared in accordance with the Guidelines for Drawing up, Introduction and Implementation of Integrity Plans issued by the national Commission for the Prevention of Corruption.

The implementation of measures contributes to strengthening the organizational and personal integrity of ��ɫ����Ƶ and students. 

The implementation of the Integrity Plan is serviced by the Integrity Plan Administrator, appointed by the Rector's decision, in cooperation with the Working Group for the Implementation of the UP Integrity Plan.

ETHICS

The Code of Ethics aims to build and maintain high professional and ethical standards among members of the University community, strengthen loyalty, ensure the transparency and social responsibility of the University's activities, and encourage freedom of research, teaching, and learning, as well as promote a positive public image of the University.

In their research work, the ��ɫ����Ƶ and students also follow the issued in 2018 by ALLEA – association of European academies.   

Ethics issues at the UP are addressed by the Ethical Issues Commission (KEV UP), which discusses and takes views on ethically questionable actions and practices  and the Commission of the University of Primorska for Ethics in Human Subjects Research (KER UP) whose main task is to evaluate and perform ethics assessments of research involving human subjects or secondary data, which do not fall under competence of the state ethics commissions.

GENDER EQUALITY

UP is an inclusive academic community that provides equal opportunities for all stakeholders, regardless of their personal or social circumstances. In doing so, it contributes to building a just society, based on creating well-being for the individual, local and wider environment.

The Gender Equality Plan is an official UP document setting vision and mission in ensuring gender and other equalities. The plan affects the following areas as well: gender identity, cultural, ethnic origin and religious beliefs, disabilities, illnesses or disorders and age.It stems from current situation analysis and defines measures to achieve strategic objectives in the field of equality policy. 

Equality policy addresses all ��ɫ����Ƶ and students. Indirectly it also has an impact on the wider social environment.  The 2021-2027 Gender Equality Plan is in line with the Mid-Term Development Strategy of the UP. It also meets the European Commission's content and implementation requirements, thus ensuring compliance with the eligibility criterion for participation in Horizon Europe projects.
