- Neža Čebron Lipovec
Neža Čebron Lipovec is an art and architectural historian specialising in the field of conservation of monuments and sites (RLICC K.U. Leuven, Belgium). Initially, she worked as a researcher at the RLICC, focusing on preventive conservation and built heritage maintenance practices in Europe. Since 2009 she has been working as a researcher and assistant professor at the Department and Institute for archaeology and heritage at the Faculty of Humanities of the University of Primorska (Slovenia). Her key fields of research encompass post-World War II architectural history and conservation, as well as contemporary issues of immovable heritage conservation and management. In recent years, she has focused on critical heritage studies, especially anthropological and ethnological perspectives in built heritage conservation, heritage discourses, and participatory methods in conservation. She collaborated in several international and cross-border projects (Roof of Rock; MACC – Modern Art Conservation Centre; Shared Culture; As – Archaeology for all; etc.) and in several national research projects.
She currently holds a two-year postdoctoral grant of the Slovenian Research Agency, while also participating in the national research project HEI-TRANSFORM, Heritage for and inclusive transformation, as well as in two COST Actions (Slow Memory; Dynamics of Placemaking). She is vice-chair of the Institute for Archaeology and Heritage as well as vice-chair of the UNESCO Chair of Interpretation and Education for Enhancing Integrated Heritage Approaches, at the Faculty of Humanities, University of Primorska.
She teaches courses on Heritage Theory (BA), Architectural History (BA), Heritage Management (MA), Fundamentals of Built Heritage Conservation (MA), Practicum of heritage (MA), as well as a course on Ethnological Conservation (BA) at the Department of Ethnology and Cultural Anthropology at the Faculty of Arts, University of Ljubljana.
The project Green, Digital & Inclusive University of Primorska (GDI UP) is co-financed by the Republic of Slovenia, the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation and the European Union – NextGenerationEU. The project is implemented in accordance with the Recovery and Resilience Plan (RRP) under the development area Smart, Sustainable and Inclusive Growth, component Strengthening competencies, in particular digital competencies and those required by the new professions and the green transition (C3 K5), for the investment measure Investment F. Implementation of pilot projects, the results of which will serve as a basis for the preparation of a roadmap for the reform of higher education for a green and resilient transition to a Society 5.0: project Pilot Projects for the Reform of Higher Education for a Green and Resilient Transition.
