The inaugural meeting of the UNESCO Chair UP
UNESCO CHAIR OF INTERPRETATION AND EDUCATION FOR ENHANCING INTEGRATED HERITAGE APPROACHES
INAUGURATION MEETING
22nd February 2022
University of Primorska, Koper, Slovenia
and via zoom:
The Faculty of Humanities, University of Primorska, in partnership with Škocjan Cave Park established the UNESCO Chair of interpretation and education for enhancing integrated heritage approaches.
The Chair aims to fill the gap within the existing UNESCO chairs in the world, as it identifies in the interpretation and the education through an integrated approach to heritage the key to sustainable heritage management. Trends in scholarship in practice pinpoint the need for an inclusive approach in the management of cultural and natural heritage. The main concept in this sense consists in the participatory and “values-led” approaches that aim at promoting sustainable management of both natural and cultural heritage through community involvement.
We are pleased to invite you to join us at the Inauguration meeting of the new UNESCO Chair.
