The Autumn Orientation Days are a prelude to the start of studies at UP in October - they are aimed at both regular international students and students coming to UP as part of international exchanges. The days mark the end of the remote cooperation with application and enrolment procedures and assistance through the redesigned Welcome UP website, as well as introductory events specifically for international students, starting in August with the Preparatory Days, held online. Orientation Days are an opportunity for students to get to know each other in person, both at UP and at home - to get to know both the new environment and the new people who will be part of their study life.
This year, the orientation days were attended by more than 300 foreign full-time and Erasmus+ exchange students, mainly from European countries such as Italy, the Czech Republic, Spain, Poland, Lithuania, Latvia, Portugal, France, North Macedonia, Serbia and others.
For the first time, foreign students were welcomed also by representatives of the Municipality of Koper, alongside the Rector of the University of Primorka and the UP President of the Student Council, at the Taverna Koper. Then they continued in small groups to learn key information about UP, the environment and their studies, including how to arrange forms and documents for the Administrative Unit. During the treasure hunt around Koper, they traditionally visited key points (the Administrative Unit, ŠOUP, Health Centre and others), accompanied by student tutors and representatives of ESN Primorska (Erasmus Student Network), who provided a varied social programme.
The Orientation Days will ended with Saturday trips organised by and the , organised with partners from the UP environment - a trip to So膷erga, Škocjanske jame and the Port of Koper.
They got to know their surroundings both through the traditional Treasure Hunt around Koper, during which they get to know the key points for living and studying in the city, and by visiting the activities of the European Researchers' Night. The programme is rounded off by a trip to the Škocjan Caves on Saturday.
