Staff week
Every year, the University of Primorska organises a week-long training programme for non-academic staff from partner institutions.
The week is aimed at sharing experiences and knowledge, good practices and getting to know each other better. Through interactive lectures and workshops, we build on our knowledge and find new solutions to a specific topic that all partners are facing. In addition, we also provide relaxed moments to get to know the university and the destination. The date of this event has not yet been finalised, but please to register your interest by sending an email to international@upr.si. This will allow us to provide you with the necessary information as soon as our plans are confirmed.
Job shadowing offers staff the opportunity to work alongside other staff at another institution and gain experiential insights into a particular area of work. It can also be used to give an individual in a department the opportunity to work alongside more experienced colleagues in order to learn and develop within the context of their current job.
Work-based supervision has many potential benefits for staff and departments at the University:
- It can help improve communication between departments and faculties and encourage continuous improvement.
- For hosts, it provides an opportunity to share best practice and enables self-development of the visitor/guest and often the host.
- For the individual, a job shadowing provides a unique opportunity to learn how other staff members work and what their role entails. It develops a deeper knowledge and understanding of other roles and functions within the University.
