Communication and media research focuses on the critical analysis of communication processes in society, encompassing the broad field of communication and modes of social integration in the subsystems of politics, economics and culture. The study of public and private communication, characterized in the present day by rapid changes in the development and use of information and communication technology, includes political, ethical, legal, philosophical, anthropological, linguistic and cultural aspects of communication. The research activity thus contributes to a comprehensive understanding of the use of modern communication means and the functioning of media institutions, the processes of information creation, the ways of their distribution, broadcasting, and influences information, cultural consumption, political choice and other areas of human life. Particular emphasis is placed on exploring the possibilities for egalitarian and democratic communication of citizens and the analysis of social and technological factors that influence the development of a pluralistic and inclusive media landscape.
